Called Brew Body, this is a special maltodextrin with a high content of non-fermentable sugars. Increases mouthfeel and structure in beers. Contributes to better foam stability. Lower “sweetness” than regular sugar, approximately 15%.

Based on malto-dextrines (contains gluten). Increases the body (also for wine) and preserves the head.

Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide that is largely non-fermentable. It enhances mouthfeel and structure in beers, especially in lower-gravity beers. It can also contribute to better foam stability. Maltodextrin has a much lower sweetness compared to regular sugar, approximately 15%.

The amount of maltodextrin used in beer depends on the desired effect, but a common guideline is:

• For improved body, structure, and mouthfeel:
2-5% of the total grist (weight percentage of the malt bill)
→ Often used in stouts, porters, and some hazy IPAs to enhance mouthfeel without additional fermentation.

• For higher residual sugars and more sweetness:
Up to 10% of the total grist
→ This is rarely exceeded, as it can make the beer too thick or syrupy.

• For non-alcoholic beers:
3 - 8 g per liter
→ Here, maltodextrin is sometimes used to compensate for body loss, as non-alcoholic beers are often thinner.

Composition:

Dextrose: 1 w%w
Maltose: 5 w%w
Maltotriose: 9 w%w
Higher sugars: 85 w%w


Usage: Add at the end of the boil and stir thoroughly.

A: We usually ship an order within 1-2 business days from our warehouse. If you are in a hurry, choose MM-Express at checkout, then we will send you your order on the same business day if you  have placed your order before 10 a clock CET.
